How Computer Ethics is Possible

Computer Ethics Institute

Thomas A. Wilson, Houston, Texas

Thomas Wilson’s paper explores how hypothetical situations arising within the field of computer ethics are handled by ethical theories. In particular, he lays the foundations for considering the question of which ethical theories should be extended into the computer ethics discipline. He explains how Kant’s categorical imperative is applied and how certain rights and duties of employers and employees are applied.
